London Paddington train station

Located in a fairly residential area close to London’s biggest attractions, Paddington station is a popular railway terminus and the second busiest station in the UK. It is located on Praed Street, and there are additional entrances into the station from the Tube stations and the canal footpath. The original building opened in 1854 and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the chief engineer for the Great Western Railway, whose services still run from the station. Getting to and from London Paddington

There are two London Underground stations at Paddington with exits to the rail station. One station provides access to the Bakerloo, Circle and District lines, and the other has Circle and Hammersmith & City line trains. Lancaster Gate Tube station on the Central line is also within walking distance. There are bus stops on Praed Street outside of the station. Paddington station also has a taxi rank and car park. Cars cannot wait at the drop-off and pick-up point.

Paddington station is London’s terminus for the Great Western Main Line, primarily operated by Great Western Railway. Trains serve suburbs to the west of London, the Thames Valley region, the West Country and South Wales. Two services travel from Heathrow Airport and Reading.

Two services alight at Paddington station. The Elizabeth line calls at all stations and there are six trains an hour, while the Heathrow Express runs non-stop every 15 minutes. Journeys take 15–18 minutes, depending on the terminal.

Three main operators provide train services to and from Paddington station. Great Western Railway runs trains to the West and South West of England. The Elizabeth line, run by Transport for London (TfL), runs from Reading and Heathrow Airport to Abbey Wood and Shenfield. The Heathrow Express operates direct trains to the airport.
