Compare the different train routes available.

Choose the best route for you and book train tickets on the TrainPal Website or TrainPal App.

Download your e-tickets or print your tickets.

Is it cheaper to buy train tickets in advance?

Yes. Booking train tickets in advance is usually cheaper than purchasing standard tickets.

Can I buy train tickets for family / friends / someone else?

Yes, you can buy train tickets for someone else. We suggest that you book train tickets for others using their own personal information to avoid any issues with ticket collection and checking.

What kind of fees does TrainPal charge?

We charge a SplitTickets service fee on our website. Sometimes we charge a booking fee on our website - when a booking fee applies to your ticket it will be included in the total price and the amount of the booking fee will be displayed once the ticket is selected. We do not charge any fees on our app.

How are the fees are calculated?

When a booking fee applies, TrainPal charges 2.5% of the total ticket price with a maximum booking fee of £15.

For SplitTickets, TrainPal charges 12% of the difference between the original price and the SplitTickets price with a maximum SplitTickets service fee of £1.99.

How do I change my ticket if signed as a guest?

If you book your ticket on our website, sorry, any ticket booked as a guest on our website cannot be changed or refunded.

If you book your ticket as a guest on our TrainPal App, you can easily make changes by accessing 'My Bookings' and selecting the ticket you want to change.

What happens if a ticket is booked with the wrong name?

Don't worry. Just make sure that you book the ticket with correct contact information and remember to bring your physical ticket/e-ticket to have it checked at the station.

Can I travel if my name is misspelt on my ticket?

Yes, don't worry. Just make sure that you book the ticket with correct contact information and remember to bring your physical ticket or e-ticket to have it checked at the station.

When using a Railcard, it requires the correct ID.

When requesting a refund or making changes, you may need to prove your identity.

Can we change passenger names on train tickets online?

No, British train tickets do not require passenger information to be entered. If the name you want to change is the contact name, sorry, the contact information is unchangeable. You need to purchase a new ticket with the name of the person who will be travelling (if the conditions of sale allow it, you can cancel the ticket you don’t need).

Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

Yes, you can transfer your ticket to another person if you encounter some special circumstances that lead to the cancellation of your travel plans. However, the best course of action would be to change or cancel your ticket. We suggest you book train tickets for your own use only to avoid any trouble with ticket collection and checking.

Can I upgrade my ticket to first class?

If you originally booked a Standard Class ticket but now want to upgrade to First Class, you can check if there are any seats available in First Class by speaking with a train conductor. If there are seats available, you can pay the price difference and be allocated a First Class seat.

Why are my tickets not showing in my account / TrainPal App

Your tickets may not show up for four reasons below:

Check if you booked them on TrainPal. Tickets from other agents may not be synchronised.

Check if you're signed into your TrainPal App, using the same account you used to book your ticket with.

If you bought tickets as a guest and are now logged in, they may not synchronise. Upload them to your account by entering the code on your e-tickets on the TrainPal App. (Note: TrainPal website cannot upload tickets)
