How to apply a Railcard on the TrainPal App?

To apply a Railcard on TrainPal, tap on "Account", then select "Railcard". Choose the best Railcard for you based on your age and location. After payment, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to import it into your account or the TrainPal App. Once imported, you'll have a Railcard.

How to add a Railcard to TrainPal?

If you've already bought a Digital Railcard, you should have received a 'Digital Railcard Download Code' on the purchase confirmation page and via email. Once you have this code, open the Railcard app, tap on the ‘+’ sign, and enter your code.

Whether you purchased your Railcard from TrainPal or another platform, you can add it when searching for tickets.

How to use a Railcard on TrainPal?

After purchasing a Railcard on the TrainPal App, tap "Download" to save it on your device. When applying your Railcard to a booking, sign in to your account and present it to the train conductor when requested. If you purchased your Railcard from another platform, make sure to carry it with you and show it when asked.

Open our app on the device you would like to move. Log in to your TrainPal account and then download your Railcard to your new device.

How to change Railcard type?

Sorry, you can’t change your Railcard type, but you can repurchase the Railcard you want and apply for a refund of the original Railcard, if the Railcard is not being used, you’ll get a full refund.

How do I get a Railcard for mature students?

If you're between the ages of 26-30, you can purchase the 26-30 Railcard, which offers the same discounts as the 16-25 Railcard.

If you're aged 30 or above, you can apply for a 16-25 Railcard through the form at the station.

Renew Railcard

How to renew a Railcard online?

If your Railcard is expiring within the next 30 days or has already expired, you'll see a "Renew" button in the TrainPal App. Just click on "Renew" and follow the steps to renew your Railcard. You won't need to enter your ID number or upload your photo again (except for Two Together Railcard holders who want to change the second cardholder

Am I eligible to renew my Railcard?

Senior/Network/Family Railcards:

You can renew your Railcard if the card status is "Action" or "Expired".

16-17 Saver:

If you're still 17, you can renew your 16-17 Saver online. It will be valid until the day before your 18th birthday. If you're approaching your 18th birthday, consider getting the 16-25 Railcard for longer discounts.

16-25 Railcard:

You can renew your Railcard if the valid date is before your 26th birthday. If you're not currently aged 16-25, you're not eligible for renewal. Consider getting a 26-30 Railcard instead.

26-30 Railcard:

You can renew your Railcard if the valid date is before your 31st birthday. If you're not currently aged 26-30, you're not eligible for renewal. Consider getting Two Together, Family, or Network Railcards.

The 16-25 Railcard is an annual card offering a 1/3 discount on railway tickets in Britain for anyone aged 16-25 (inclusive). The Railcard has no restrictions on the number of times it can be used to purchase discounted tickets during its validity period. It's one of the few Railcards that can be used during Peak times. Railcard and Oyster Card

How to add / link Railcard to Oyster?

To link your Oyster card and Railcard, you should bring both cards to an Underground station, Overground ticket office, or certain National Rail ticket offices. Ask the staff to apply your Railcard discount to your Oyster card. This discount will remain valid until your Railcard expires.
